About Nourish and our product

The reason Why Nourish Exists is a big one. People are struggling to eat well and Nourish is working to change that. Our mission is to improve people’s health by making it easy to eat well.

The first step of our signup funnel, launched in Q1 2024.

To achieve our mission, we are building a product that delivers great health outcomes to as many people as possible. We have four main product areas:

  1. Patient. Our goal is to make our patient-facing mobile app as engaging and useful as possible to drive long-term health outcomes. Ultimately, patients will have nutrition support on-demand — they can message their dietitian, get tactical recommendations, plan their meals, learn more about certain topics, track their outcomes, and much more through just a few taps on their phone.
  2. Provider. We have a provider portal where all our providers work out of. We’ve leveraged AI and have built tailored products around charting, data tracking, and care delivery workflows to give our dietitians “superpowers” —  our goal is to make every dietitian 100x more effective, both inside and outside of a “session.”
  3. Growth. In order to reach as many people as possible, we need to make it as easy as possible for patients to get matched with the right dietitian. We’ve built a robust directory and sign up flow to date, and continue to improve the ease in which you can sign up and how we ensure the best match between patients and providers.
  4. Billing / Insurance. To have impact at scale, we need to make what we’re building at Nourish accessible — insurance coverage is a core piece of that. We work tirelessly with other internal and external stakeholders to ensure that as many patients as possible are covered by their insurance and therefore pay little to nothing out of pocket.

How we work and things we’ve built

Take a look at How We Work to get a sense for how Nourish as a whole works together.

When it comes to the engineering team, we highly prioritize heads down time. We have two sprint check-ins a week and a weekly R&D time to get together as a team and discuss anything top of mind, ranging from deep dives on new technology, debugging sessions, brainstorms/retros, and more. We plan our high level roadmap on a quarterly basis, with team brainstorms and discussions of company priorities. And then we get to building 🚢

Here’s some examples of things we’ve recently built!

Engineering culture

At Nourish, our engineering team lives by our core Nourish Values. Not only do we put our users first, but we also get awesome, actionable feedback from our patients and providers every day, which helps us build a better and better product.
